Hand Rejuvenation

Patients frequently dislike the aged appearance of their hands. Usual features of hand aging include visible tendons and veins and poor skin quality. All these issues can be eased by a simple fat grafting procedure. Fat grafting can be done at the time of other procedures like facial rejuvenation or liposuction, or can be performed as a stand alone procedure.

The hands are fairly simple to anaesthetise with local anaesthesia. Fat is harvested with a small liposuction procedure and then injected into the hands to improve the quality and thickness of the skin and disguise unsightly veins and tendons. The procedure leaves no discernible scars, but the hands can be bruised and swollen for a couple of weeks. Complications are rare.
