PHOTOGRAPHS can help me form an opinion about whether you are suitable for surgery and what procedure would be most appropriate for you. This is particularly so for facial rejuvenation surgery and tummy tucks. Photographs are less helpful to me for breast surgery and liposuction.

Social pictures, pictures taken at parties, restaurants and the like are of little use to me. Photos should be taken in good light and with a flash from some distance away and should show the whole problem area. Facial photos should show from the top of the head to the bottom of the neck. Body shots should be from the shoulders to the knees and can be taken in swimming trunks or underwear. It is always better for me to see a series of pictures rather than one picture: front, each side view and each 3/4 view. In addition to these views, it is useful to see a worm's eye view for patients considering nose jobs.

Photographs can be sent electronically via email or by regular mail to my practice address in the left margin. When sending pictures via email, please keep the file size small (certainly less than 250kb and preferably smaller). In WindowsXP choose the option "make my pictures smaller" or use the "save for web" feature in Photoshop.

All photographs sent to me will be treated in confidence by my rooms. Please understand that I cannot be responsible for any risk when sending photographs. Bear in mind that photographs only act as a guide and allow me more information about your problem. Final decisions about surgery will only be made once we meet for a formal face to face consultation.
