Body enhancement surgery may be required because genetics has been unkind to you, after weight loss, after pregnancy or because of aging. Where possible I try to do things through small scars which basically means liposuction (liposculpture if you prefer), sometimes with fat grafting (breast, butt). But some issues may need excisional surgery to remove excess skin or to gain access to tighten muscles.
The body enhancement procedure which I offer in my practice include:
- Liposuction (= liposculputure as it is always a sculpting procedure)
- Large volume fat grafting: for breast or butt enhancement
- Tummy improvement: abdominoplasty = tummy tuck
- Arm improvement either with brahioplasty or liposuction or both
I generally do not do the following procedures: various body implants (except breast), major body lifts like thigh and butt lifts (although I do achieve some lifting with liposuction and fat grafting).
Liposuction is the commonest procedure that I do for body enhancement. Areas that can be treated with liposuction in women include the usual areas between the bust and the knees. But almost any other part can be treated with liposuction too: the neck, arms, flanks and even calves. Liposuction is attractive because it is minimally invasive, in other words it leaves inconspicuous scars.
Fat grafting requires liposuction to harvest the fat and fat is then recycled to where it is needed, frequently the butt or the breasts.
Excisional procedures are useful where skin and fat require removal. Excisional procedures which I offer include tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and brachioplasty, excision of excess skin from the arms. Frequently excisional procedures are combined with liposuction.
From a cleft patient who had secondary surgery to help her speech:
It is one year ago that i was blessed to meet and know you. Thank you very much for the support you rendered to me while I was in South Africa. I will never forget your acts of kindness. I am fine now and my speech has greatly improved! I think I don’t need another operation. Even though I don’t communicate that often, you are always at heart.
